In-Place Roofs |
| The in-place roof technique will be used to accommodate roof shapes that cannot be achieved with either of the previously mentioned methods, usually being modeled with historic shapes or chal-lenging geometry such as domes and onion domed roofs (Figure 11.40). |

| To start an in-place roof family, from the Modeling tab, click the Create button. Select Roofs from the Family Category list (Figure 11.41) and click OK. This list allows Revit to schedule the new ele-ment as a roof. |

| You can create any roof shape using the modeling techniques of Extrusion, Sweep, Revolve and Blend or any combination of them. You can, using the Edit shape tools, edit any roof shape manu-ally, adding points and slopes. There will be more about advanced shape editing later in this chap-ter, in the section “Roof and Slabs." |
